12 yrs ago today I lost my hero. It pisses me off that she will never know her granddaughter, and her granddaughter will only know stories (albeit fantastic ones!) of her grandmother. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her and wish she was here. (Sigh)

pubmrsa 3205I feel the same way...it never goes away, either. Moms hold a special place in our hearts, as long as we live. Still, perhaps you could find a substitute grandmother? I've got seven granddaughters-of-the-heart and wouldn't know what to do without them. Look at a senior center or contact the Red Hat ladies.
Luckily I have a fantastic stepmom, wonderful mother in law, and several amazing aunts-- all of whom look after me as their own. I have been beyond blessed with incredible family & friends-- and I'm glad I get to share them with Miss Priss
