...an absolutely HILARIOUS movie to you? If you like to laugh, want to laugh, or (like me) NEED to laugh- go see Date Night!! My friend Missy and I went to see it last night-- and I honestly cannot remember the last time I have laughed like that in a theatre. Of course, I LOVE Tina Fey and Steve Carrell-- and whoever thought up teaming them together was a genius!
There are several hilarious cameos also-- Mark Wahlberg (sans shirt!), James Franco & Mila Kunis, Ray Liotta....
I know the movie has gotten mixed reviews from the "experts"-- but seriously, this is not one of those movies you go to see because it might be Oscar caliber-- you go to have fun & enjoy yourself-- isn't that was the movie experience is SUPPOSED to be about anyway?
Just GO!

On a sidenote-- I would like to wish my Gma a VERY happy 94th b-day! Yeah, she's pretty awesome!

Mixed Signals
So I am still torn about the movie He's Just Not that Into You. I really liked the book and what it had to say. But it presented a certain set of rules-- and the movie seem to break them. In case you haven't read the book or seen the movie, I won't give anything away.
The book makes you aware that things won't ALWAYS work out... not every story has a happy ending. And while not ALL the characters had happy endings-- there were MANY exceptions to Greg's proposed ways. I'm really curious what his thoughts on the script were. I'm sure he had some say-so in it...
The movie was sweet, if somewhat predictable. I liked it. It just didn't jive completely with the book, which was frustrating. (Trust me, Leigh was WAY more pissed than I was!)
So if you compare the book and movie, I'm sad to say it will leave you like most relationships-- confused by mixed signals.

Late to the Party...
Yes, I am aware that I am once again, late to the party... Yes the Twilight series was popular years ago-- I fought off reading it for as long as I could. With the end of Harry Potter, I needed some new characters. So, as mentioned in previous posts, I got the books on cd and have been listening. I am a few chapters in to the 3rd book... And I am IRRITATED with some of the characters! This book is WAY harder to put up with than the others... (& for the record, I NEVER felt this way with HP!)
So yes, the Cullens-- I LOVE THEM!

Edward-- MMMMMmmmmm.... Alice cracks me up... Rosalie has grown on me now that I understand her... and Emmitt and Jasper-- well... I view them as protective brothers.... Did I mention Edward=YUMMY? And how fun that "Cedric Diggory" from the HP movies is playing him!! Good casting!
Now... as for Bella Swan--

Also good casting I think.... but the character is starting to piss me off! Sometimes it is like she is so DITZY-- not "getting" or understanding things that are SO obvious.... And yes, I realize she is 18 and somewhat naive... but GEEZ!
And Jacob Black...

He started off SO sweet... I knew it would never last. And I understand it is his "instinct" to act the way he does... but oy vey! He is on my LAST nerve! Actually, I am pretty sure the instant the werewolf thing was introduced, I rolled my eyes.
So the Twilight series... yes, I like it. Yes, I am hooked. But I am also highly annoyed. And I know that MANY were pissed with the last book... which makes me wonder--- DON'T TELL ME!!! But I predict I am going to come away from this series dissatisfied.... unlike my beloved Harry Potter... So-- I will once again be looking for some new characters in my life... feel free to suggest some new party people... Maybe I can get to that party on time.
